While I have excitedly been anticipating my Storm Chase / Photography trip in July, I am also mindful of the devastation that a storm like the one in OKC can bring, and that it will change your life in a heartbeat. Two of my chasers friends Randy Walton and Ben McMillan were on scene witnesses to the tornado as it tore through the neighborhood.  Also with them was a tour guest, Angela Nicol from New Zealand.  When the storm passed they rushed into first responder mode to try and rescue as many as they could until emergency crews arrived. My heart aches for them, for what they witnessed and for what the people of Oklahoma City have endured.

Yes I will still go on my trip if the tour is not cancelled, but I am already forever changed by this event as I watched it unfold on the live stream from Ben’s vehicle. I pray that this is the only major disaster caused by a tornado this season, and I ask that the good Lord watch over and protect my friends and may he bring comfort and solace to the many victims.

Please do whatever you can to assist the people of Oklahoma City during this disaster.
